VOLUNTEER WITH US

A group of volunteers founded the Coeur d'Alene Symphony Orchestra in 1980 and we still rely today on many volunteers to make the music—and the magic—happen.

Each season, volunteers donate hundreds of hours to support the CSO. If you have a love for music and the arts, a desire to give back, and want to meet others who share your interests, join our dedicated community of volunteers!

  • CSO accepts volunteers ages 12-16 with a parent/guardian partner, and volunteers ages 17-18 with parent/guardian permission waiver.
  • If you are interested in a skills-based volunteer role in the CSO office, as well as completing the online application, please submit your resume to volunteer@cdasymphony.org

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

  • Provide concert evening support, including pre- and post-concert receptions
  • Help at outdoor community events, social fundraisers, and Saturday with the Symphony program
  • Assist with office projects such as mailing and other administrative tasks

Outreach Committee
The Outreach Committee creates and executes a plan of outreach to schools, educational organizations, and other community organizations who are potential supporters (e.g., senior centers) of the CSO. This committee also manages the volunteers that are needed to support the symphony.

In addition to our committees, we are looking for volunteers to support CSO concerts:

Ushers

Greet attendees, scan tickets, and assist with seating.
Ushers arrive 30 minutes in advance of each CSO concert and are provided a complimentary ticket to attend performance.

Box Office

Help sell tickets or hand out tickets held for pick up.
Volunteers arrive 45 minutes in advance of each CSO concert and are provided a complimentary ticket to attend performance.

We are always looking for enthusiastic members to join our committees:

Development Committee
The primary responsibility of the Development Committee is to raise resources (private, public, and non-profit) for the CSO. Efforts are divided into the following subcommittees:

Events
Subcommittee members plan, organize, and run events (e.g., the large donor events) which raise funds for the CSO. Members of this subcommittee energize involvement across the CSO to include the musicians, board members, parents, and supporters of the symphony. This group reports to the Event Coordinator Chair.

Advertising and Sponsorship
Subcommittee members lead the CSO's effort to solicit revenue from businesses (e.g., sponsoring or attending large donor events, or sponsorships) and private donors. This subcommittee creates a marketing plan for outreach and utilizes members across the CSO to execute this plan.

Public and Non-Profit Funding
These subcommittee members solicit and market for sources of public (local, state, and federal) and non-profit funding. The subcommittee researches the opportunities and creates the plan for responding appropriately (e.g., grant application).

STUDENT AMBASSADORS

The Coeur d'Alene Symphony Orchestra is seeking undergraduate or graduate students to serve as Student Ambassadors! Rolling applications are accepted throughout the year.

What is the Student Ambassador program?
This program is a unique and competitive volunteering opportunity for undergraduate or graduate students in the Coeur d'Alene and surrounding areas interested in learning about the Coeur d'Alene Symphony Orchestra.

What is an Ambassador's role?
Students volunteer on

Tasks may include staffing a CSO table at college event, volunteering at North Idaho College or the Kro

c Center during a performance, distributing promotional materials, posting to social media, and other related tasks that help to raise awareness about the orchestra on campus and with your peers.

Why join?
Being a Student Ambassador holds many perks including a behind-the-scenes peek at the CSO, fulfillment of community service hours, experience to add t
